I grew up in the Chicago area and lived in Minneapolis before gravitating to the West, which is now home.
I have a strong healthcare background, having worked as a hospital and public health nutritionist/registered dietitian, health educator, and as a pharmaceutical sales rep before getting a journalism master’s degree at Columbia University.
I did 14 years as a writer/editor of medical trend reports for OTR Global (formerly Off the Record Research) and have 25 years of freelance writing/editing for clients including pharmaceutical /medical device companies, top women’s and health magazines, and publishers.
My environmental writing interest began with my experience as a park ranger at the Grand Canyon and as a board member for several environmental organizations.
My published article topics include the organic industry where I have written features for the Organic Trade Association’s Organic Report magazine since 2012.
I also write articles, mostly on native plants, tree health, and other natural science topics, for the Redlands Daily Facts and its sister newspapers and other local outlets.
